Light, Design, and Italian Cuisine: A Lighting that Captivates at Basilico

The lighting in a restaurant is much more than a technical resource. It is the element that creates the first impression, influences the mood of the diner, and ultimately defines the perception of the space. Good lighting:

• Highlights materials, textures, and colors.
• Generates visual comfort zones.
• It influences the pace of service (more agile or relaxed).
• Improve the presentation of the dishes.
• Communicate the concept of the place in a sensory way.

The lighting design carried out by Luxes in the restaurant Basilico has been carefully executed to complement its contemporary style with Italian inspiration. A space where the identity of the interior design is also built through light. In this project, we worked from the beginning alongside the architecture studio to develop a custom lighting solution, fully integrated into the restaurant's narrative concept. The result: a lighting system that responds to the uses of the space, its materials, rhythms, and geometries.​

We design and manufacture exclusive lighting fixtures, such as pieces inspired by pizza peels or profiles that mimic kitchen utensils, which add character and enhance the storytelling of the space. The light here not only sets the mood, but also creates intimacy and enhances the sensory experience of the diner. A clear example of how personalized lighting can become an essential part of architectural language.
The lighting strategy of Luxes at the restaurant Basilico not only enhances the customer experience but has also managed to position itself as a desirable, Instagrammable space that is consistent with its philosophy of artisanal cooking and attention to detail. In this case, light has been used not as an accessory but as a vehicle for identity, reputation, and differentiation.
